Renewable Energy Project Developer
Eurus Energy America Corporation (EEAC) a long-standing developer and operator of utility-scale renewable generation projects based in San Diego since 1989 is looking to add a project developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to the wind and/or solar renewable/power sector to help manage and drive new business and investment priorities under the guidance of the Development team, Company President and the Eurus Energy Holdings (EEH) Board and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC).
Responsibilities:
- Drive development progress and results in wind, solar and battery storage greenfield and project origination efforts including off take origination, RFP response and project permitting for development projects in North America.
- Perform project due-diligence and market research to build both industry knowledge and seek acquisition opportunities for the Company.
- Identify new project sites and manage project development for existing early-stage project assets which can include lease negotiation/land acquisition, permitting & environmental study coordination and pursuing solutions for interconnection and commercial offtake.
- Manage multiple late-stage development assets for construction.
- Effectively collaborate with 3rd party consultants.
- Provide written/oral reports to management regarding various aspects of a project – such as budgets and schedules and key performance indicators that can be used for corporate decision making.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years professional development experience in the wind and/or solar renewable/power sector including, project management, energy development, environmental permitting/regulatory affairs.
- Travel on a regular basis 25% – 50%.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel), project management, and research database tools.
- Proven track record of effectively managing multiple projects and relationships – including 3rd party consultants, landowners, community members and other local stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written & presentation.
- Self-directed, organized, and self-motivated to optimize work processes and accomplish goals.
- Proven ability to build relationships with team members working in a highly collaborative environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or environmental studies.
- Commute to San Diego office 1-2 days a week for hybrid work schedule.
- Walking project site visits with varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Willingness to embrace a culture of respect, communication, and accountability to thrive within a Japanese/American work environment.
