Renewable Energy Project Developer

Location: San Diego, CA
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Senior Development Manager

Eurus Energy America Corporation (EEAC) is looking to add a project developer with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience ideally relevant to the renewable/power sector to augment its seasoned development group.  Although specific renewable energy development experience is preferred, candidates with professional project management, regulatory, or environmental permitting experience will be similarly considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist development team with project due-diligence and market research to build both industry knowledge and seek acquisition opportunities for the Company.
  • Identify new project sites and manage project development for existing early-stage project assets which can include lease negotiation/land acquisition, permitting & environmental study coordination and pursuing solutions for interconnection and commercial offtake.
  • Provide development support to ready late-stage development assets for construction.
  • Effectively collaborate with 3rd party consultants – managing their contracts, time & budgets.
  • Provide written/oral reports to management regarding various aspects of a project – such as budgets and schedules that can be used for corporate decision making.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience ideally relevant to the renewable/power sector including project management, energy development, environmental permitting/regulatory affairs or related field.
  • Travel required 30% – 50%.
  • General aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency using Excel & Project.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and relationships – including 3rd party consultants, landowners, community members and other local stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written & presentation.
  • Ability to build relationships with team members working in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

VP – Operations & Asset Management

Location: San Diego, CA
Reporting Relationship: Reports to President/CEO

EEAC is seeking a Vice President of Operations and Asset Management (OAM). The position reports to the President/CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team of 8-10 operations and asset management professionals and a portfolio of approximately 700 MW of operating wind and solar assets – across 10-12 projects located in the US and Latin America.
  • Operational, technical, financial, and commercial performance management and reporting.
  • Oversee compliance, contract management, internal and external reporting, and SPC governance.
  • Conduct performance reviews, make strategic recommendations, set priorities and action plans for implementing optimization of financial performance and/or turn around/rehabilitation efforts for underperforming assets.
  • Assist Corporate Planning and CEO with Business Plans inputs and operational strategies, liaise with Accounting/Finance/Legal/Business development managers in a continuous feedback loop of data, risks, strengths and weaknesses based on actual operating performance of the fleet.
  • Recruit, mentor, train, cross-train, evaluate and retain talent in the OAM team.
  • Manage key stakeholder (equity and debt partners, off-takers, services providers, OEMs, landowners, community reps, etc.) relationships and build those together with business development teams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of current experience in the renewable/power sector and strong knowledge of power marketplace.
  • 10+ years’ management experience related to asset management, operations management, performance management or comparable functions; fluency in power sales arrangements and project contracts.
  • Strong knowledge and skill set base in power markets, renewables, plant operations, and asset management.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • A highly collaborative leadership style with the gravitas to effectively influence and drive innovative problem-solving.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, challenges, and projects.
  • Experience driving change, process improvements, transformation.
  • A results/action orientation with a proactive leadership style.
  • A hands-on and highly responsive approach to leading Operations & Asset Management.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

This is a core management position with potential to broaden into an increased role in the overall business development/execution aspects, COO or other senior management function in the company.
