Head of Operations & Asset Management

Position Description:

The Head of Operations & Asset Management (OAM) will be responsible for ensuring the effective financial and operational performance of Eurus Energy America Corporation’s asset portfolio, spanning multiple markets across the United States, Mexico, and South America. This role will design, refine and oversee asset operations under the guidance of Company President and the Eurus Energy Holding (EEH) Board and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC).

  • Provide leadership and strategic initiatives to maximize the overall asset portfolio of approximately 600 MW of operating wind and solar assets – across 10-12 projects located in the US, Mexico, and South America.
  • Establish short and long term financial and operational goals with OAM team VP/AVP’s and Mexico Country Manager to maximize revenues and minimize financial risk.
  • Ensure the business maximizes revenue potential as it extends current contracts, secures energy margin and optimizes asset performance.
  • Lead strategy, contract and warranty negotiations, and dispute resolutions.
  • Manage all portfolio risks, anticipating market changes and implementing mitigation strategies as required.
  • Hire and develop a high-performance team of OAM professionals that realizes the most value of the renewable assets.
  • Continuing evaluation of the OAM team and structure and application of proven best practices.
  • Build and lead the OAM team VP/ AVP’s, developing strong talent, succession planning and competencies across the group.
  • Manage project profits and returns by developing and implementing through the OAM VP/AVP’s monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics and reports including root cause solutions to meet established goals.
  • Ensure compliant regulatory aspects of the business including filings, adherence to community, environmental, and company requirements. 
  • Make strategic recommendations, set priorities, and action plans for implementing optimization of financial performance and/or turn around/rehabilitation efforts for underperforming assets.
  • Provide Corporate Planning Department and CEO with Business Plans inputs and operational strategies, consult with Accounting/Finance/Legal/Business development managers in a continuous feedback loop of data, risks, strengths, and weaknesses based on actual operating performance of the fleet.
  • Ensure policy/practice of Internal Controls within scope of authority.
  • Provide OAM consultative services to the Utility-Scale Development team while projects are still in the development phase.
  • Preparation of and management of the OAM financial matters, budgets, and contractual requirement.
  • Build and manage key stakeholder (equity and debt partners, off takers, services providers, OEMs, landowners, community reps, etc.) relationships together with business development teams.

Requirements:

The Head of Operations & Asset Management shall meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field, is required.  In addition, an MBA and/or other advanced degree is strongly preferred
  • Both strategic and execution-focused in driving projects to completion- and achieving measurable results.
  • Experienced in running process optimization to drive operations model efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Current extensive Senior management experience with 500 MW or larger wind and solar projects.
  • Both financial

Experience and Skills:

The Head of Operations & Asset Management shall possess the following experience and skills:

  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Experienced in managing and driving successful outcomes for large-scale complex and capital-intensive renewable projects.
  • Extensive network in the renewable/power sector and strong knowledge of power marketplace.
  • Leadership/management experience related to asset management, operations management, performance management or comparable functions, fluency in power sales arrangements and project contracts.
  • Strong financial and operational knowledge and skill set base in renewables, plant operations and asset management.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • A highly collaborative leadership style with the gravitas to effectively influence and drive innovative problem solving.
  • A results/action orientation with a proactive leadership style.
  • Experience working in a multi-national organization.  Experience working with or in a Japanese company will be considered a plus.  
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Travel:

Generally, less than 20% annually.
