Finance Manager /Senior Analyst

Reports To: SVP Project & Acquisition Finance
Location: Eurus Energy America (EEA) Offices, San Diego, CA

Core Duties:

The Finance Manager/Senior Analyst is a key member of the Finance team, providing modeling tools, quantitative financial analysis, structuring, documentation and execution support for the current and future asset investments and financing transactions of the company. This is a hands-on, front line role developing complex, robust modeling and analytical tools to inform management decision making and support execution of investment opportunities and related financings.

Key Job Responsibilities Include: :

  • Develop complex financial, statistical and structuring models based on the contractual, technical, financial, accounting and tax context of a variety of new and existing assets – wind, solar, storage, hydrogen, hybrid and ancillary asset types.
  • Produce projected cash flows, financial statements, investment metrics, valuations and sensitivity analysis to support development and investment decision making, benchmarking of transactions, ranking of opportunities, etc.
  • Work hand in hand with Development team, under supervision of Finance, using dynamic models to support development decision making, offtake pricing and contract structuring, RFP bids, acquisition valuations and raising of debt and equity financing.
  • Review cash flow models provided by Sellers or JV partners for evaluation of acquisition opportunities and preparation of proposals.
  • Work in tandem with Operations and Asset Management (OAM) Performance Analysis team to create feedback loop for data points, inputs, prospects for refinancing or optimization as needed; work jointly with OAM Performance Analysis team to model financial optimization proposals/refinancing opportunities on existing project debt.
  • Assist SVP Finance with documentation and closing of transactions; lead efforts on development of diligence materials for risk analysis, covenant structuring, etc.; lead or second chair with OAM on fleet refinancing transactions.
  • Provide modeling support in Ringi (investment approval) application processes, including preparation of budgets, project schedules, financial metrics summaries, balance sheet and income statements, etc.
  • Assist Dev teams in preparation of Business Plan projections annually.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in renewable financial model development and analysis; other certifications a plus (CFA/CPA, etc.); at least 2 years of relevant experience working directly on financing transaction closings in renewables/energy; sufficient knowledge of power markets, generation and transmission aspects, tax/accounting and operations to accurately model projects, systems and revenues.
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, expert in MS Excel, acuity in statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Rigorous skill in model QC review/auditing, maintaining change logs and user notes, exceptional attention to accuracy and reliability.
  • Knowledge of accounting and tax rules sufficient to correctly model those aspects of project cash flows, toggle between cash/GAPP/tax financial results, and identify/test aspects of accounting and tax risks.
  • Excellent communication skills – written & oral presentations, detailed user notes, etc.
  • Knowledge of financing structures and lender and investor requirements in non- recourse renewables finance; ability to accurately reflect contract terms, diligence results and expert advice and other variables in complex cash flow models.
  • Ability to create flexible and dynamic models to test scenarios and structures and present comparative analysis of output for Development and Finance team consideration.
  • Ability to build relationships with team members working in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Possess critical thinking approach to review work of others for consistency when incorporating into analysis; possess strong QC methods, ensure accuracy of model output.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in Finance or Accounting.
  • Spanish language a plus; cross border experience a plus.

This position is based primarily in the company’s San Diego office. A comprehensive package of benefits, including paid holidays, sick time, paid vacation, medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), etc. are part of the total compensation package together with base salary and eligibility for annual short term incentive compensation.

Salary commensurate with experience.
